Aaron Hahn

Bio: I have a brother who had done some Ironmans, but I had no interest in doing triathlons until my 40’s. I had lost 40 pounds and was doing a little swimming and biking at the Y. I kept running into some of the Tri Racers and they encouraged me to train with them. It’s hard to explain how that turned into a lifestyle, but I don’t remember what is was like to not jump out of bed and train every morning.

Career Highlight: 2016 Des Moines Half Marathon! I had run two marathons in my 20’s, but then pretty much had to give up running due to Achilles pain. After about 18 years of trying different things, I found a treatment that seems to work. I had a lot of doubts I would even finish, but I rode to the race with a group of Tri Racers who put me in the best possible mindset to have a solid day. So finishing the race in 1:58, pain free, was definitely my favorite racing day!

Why I Tri: Mostly because I get to hang out with super cool people!

“A” Race or Goal: Half Ironman
