The Ankeny Youth Triathlon was held on a beautiful Saturday morning with 127 kids participating in two distances. The Short Course distance was suited for boys and girls split by 6-8 and 9-10 age group while the Long Course distance was for the 11-12 and 13-14 age groups. The Tri Racers of Iowa have long been conducting practices, introducing youth to the wonderful sport of triathlon and putting on the event with the City of Ankeny and supporting sponsors. In fact, of those who raced, 63 kids had trained as part of the training program! We’re looking forward to a bigger and better race in 2020, so stay tuned to this site.
