A dedicated group of Triathlon enthusiast from Central Iowa and beyond
Started in 2005, The Triathlon Racers of Iowa is a non profit formed to provide support, encouragement and camaraderie for a dedicated Triathletes in Central Iowa, primarily in the Des Moines Metro area and Ames.
While membership ebbs and flows, the club has had as many as 200 paid members and remains a solid resource for training, encouragement and commaradare to this day.
Tri Racers of Iowa feature athletes from all skill levels including: Ironman Kona, mutliple Ironman Wisconsin, Ironman Tulsa finishers, National Age Group competitors down to those who have never Tri’d before. Our coaches and trainers have organized training in the off season at Prairie Trail in Ankeny. In season, we train and race all over central Iowa.
Our most cherished and important function is to coach and help organize the Ankeny Youth Triathlon. This is by far our most favorite event of the year. Coaching youth triathletes allows us to teach the next generation the sport we all love.
