IronMan Announces Des Moines as a Finalist for 2020

On April 18, Ironman (@IRONMANTRI) made a big announcement that had our tri club and the Des Moines Metro pumped! Ironman announced that Des Moines is one of four finalist cities to host a full Ironman Distance Race in the late spring or early summer of 2020. This is a 3 year committment and would be a new Ironman Distance race in the Central US. Watch the full video below.

“Exciting news was announced in Des Moines today! We have been selected as a finalist to potentially host a full Ironman in 2020-2022. What a great opportunity, for not only all of you to compete close to your friends and family, but also to showcase what our great City has to offer!

That said, our help is needed to help secure Des Moines! In the upcoming weeks Ironman will be watching to which of the finalist communities (Fayetteville, Memphis, and Tulsa) enthusiastically respond to the news.
